Former Kmart Building in Thornton, Colorado, Finds New Owner: Michigan-based Gordon Food Service has acquired the 192,532-square-foot building on 23 acres at 1400 E. 104th Ave. for $16.5 million. Gordon Food Service, a 125-year-old company, is a restaurant distributor that operates grocery-like stores open to the public. While the company has no current locations in Colorado, it has been expanding in other regions, including Texas and Canada. The building in Thornton was previously occupied by a Kmart store before it closed in 2016.
