Presented by Andy Figueroa (Vice President, Senior Business Consultant) with Chase Bank
Workshop Description:
- Why cybersecurity matters for every business: How cyberattacks can impact operations, finances, customer trust, and reputation—and why even small or niche businesses are targets (often via automated, opportunistic attacks)
- How to recognize common attacks: The mechanics, red flags, and response steps for threats like social engineering, phishing, smishing, vishing, Business Email Compromise (BEC), ransomware, and AI-enabled scams
- Practical “what to do” guidance when something feels suspicious: How to slow down, verify identity/payment changes via a second trusted channel, avoid clicking unknown links/attachments, and use reporting/escalation processes
- Preventive controls every business should implement: Core protective habits and controls like multifactor authentication (MFA), securing devices and networks, keeping software patched/updated, and setting boundaries for safe and responsible AI use
- Building a security-first culture through training and practice: Why most incidents start with simple mistakes, how regular training and simulations (like phishing tests) reduce risk, and an end-of-session exercise using real-world scenarios to apply what you learned.
